Fluids and oils fx255

Hi all
New guy looking for some info. I have a fx255 that I am more then happy with. I have had it for about a year. I would like to change out the fluids and oils. What oils are required for the engine, PS, front axle and hydraulic system/ trans? Is a Yanmar brand filter required for the hydraulic system or is there an aftermarket brand available? I already have the engine oil and air filters. Is the rather large metal reservoir on the left front of the engine bay next to the battery for the PS fluid? It has a yellow cap and no dipstick. What is the level supposed to be?

Brad,
That would be your power steering reservoir, there is a bolt on the front of the tank, remove it, pour the fluid in on top(yellow cap), when it pours out the bolt hole, its full !

That was just the info I was looking for. I was wondering how you check the fluid. Is there a NAPA filter for the hydraulic system?

Heres what I use in my FX255-D

eng.= chevron delo 400 15-40 or synthetic oil shell rotella

eng filter = napa #1064


Trans.= ATF automatic trans fluid= mercon dextron

Power steering tank = ATF

front axle = 90 weight gear oil

radiator = 50-50 mix

fuel= red farm diesel with power service added.

Waist size 33

Same here ; No object in paying 30 to 50 cents a gallon highway tax on the fuel when you don't have to.
