I couldn't find anyone to foam my wheelbarrows so I bought those "flat free" tires with wheel--about 45 bucks I think. I am in the Texas Hill country and its been worth the 45 bucks. Pushes a little harder but worth the effort and it burns off a few more of those M&Ms at the same time /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What kind of foam is this? What is the down side of filling large tractor tires with foam? When the tire has dry rotted, will you have to replace the rim also because of the foam adherring to it? I have not come accross any tire dealer in the Western NY area who does this. Has anyone around here had thier tires foamed? JR /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

foam fill tires are fairly common (especially in bobcats) in tx hill country. downside: cost and rough ride. they are replaced when no tread is left on tire/ no traction. they cut them off and have a way of reusing a lot of the foam in the new tires. this makes it cheaper the next time as it is priced by the pound.......

There are a few places in WNY that do this. There was a tire manufacturer on South Park and Louisiana in buffalo that does it and if you call any large tire store out in the rural
eas (farm country) they all know where to get it done. Try this place

Industrial Tire

The foam is normally injected into a tube so that the tire can be easily cut off the existing rim when the need arises.

yes they do, after fighting flats on my front tires i had mine foamed filled around 10 years or more ago.. It sure is nice to head out to the farm and not spend the first couple hours fixing flats, and repairing pack rat damage. But that is another story /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
