FOLDER UPDATING

Muhammad, the past couple of days, the folders have not been updating with a refresh, or logging in anew. In example, there have been three new posts added to Kubota Owning, the folder is yellow, and when opened shows at least 10 different threads showing 'new' posts, of which three have new posts, and the rest have been read previously.
This type of problem occurs haphazardly throughout the board. Not every forum will have the problem throughout all the threads, but the majority do.
My computer? Or something with the board?

Scruffy, I've only had that happen a couple of times on a couple of forums, but don't remember which ones it was, or exactly when it was.

Bird, its been pretty consistant the past couple days for me. I can log out of TBN and come back hours later, some of the forums will show 1 or more new posts, but when you open the forum, it may show 'new' posts on multiple threads. The only way to tell which are the new ones, are by looking at the time/date stamp for the thread.
Cornfusing to say the least! 1 new post, and 10 threads showing new posts! (which you've already read 9 of) Heck, I can stay confused enough on my own! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Try deleting your temporary internet files and history in internet properties when you come back in. Should do the trick.

I really haven't been having a problem like that... sounds to me like your browser is loading cached pages. Clear your cache if you haven't already and see if that makes a difference. Also, if you're on a page that seems to show new posts that really aren't new, refresh and see if that makes a difference.

Well, I went in and checked the cache and history, I have the system set up to delete temp files every time the browser is closed. Everything looked good. Logged into TBN, picked a forum, still seeing posts dating back to the 27th showing as 'NEW', opened each thread, backed out to forum menu, refreshed, backed out to discussion menu, refreshed, went back into forum, and the thread menu showed the threads correctly as having been read. Did this all the way through the Discussion Menu, and currently all is looking good. BUT, once a forum menu is opened, it should show all the threads as having been read if you refresh at the Discussion menu....at least that is the way it always worked for me up until the 27th.
P.S. - I have Norton's set up to run cleanup nightly also, so somewhere under/over the rainbow, my wagon train is breaking down.

...waits to see if any else suggests the "Norton" and maybe a new thread on the GRIEF of getting it out of a new wagon train (computer) and into the garbage can./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Nope no problems getting it out of the 'wagon train', but getting it out of the garbage can is a horse of a different color! Ain't got one, Norton's got rid of it some time back!!! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Don't worry, I do NOT have the idea that Norton's is the panacea to safe computer operations. I don't like it, but I do use it. Why? The spouse DOES like it, and I'll be danged if I spend extra money to support 5 other computers! They can all run the same thing as far as I am concerned. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
By the way, after emptying the cache, clearing out the history, and deleting all temp. files, I still have the same problem.
Not to worry, I just go by the dates of the last posts.
