I have noticed on the forum pics of tractors with front end loaders,a ROPS but no FOPS. What are the rules governing the fitting of FOPS & ROPS in the US? In Oz a FOPS must be fitted when a loader is fitted unless the tractor has a cab. ROPS must be fitted by law on all new machines and on s/h machines sold by a dealer. Kerry.

Kerry, I thought someone on here would know what the rules or law is on this. I don't know, but it does seem that if you see a tractor that was designed and sold specifically as a tractor/loader/backhoe, it will have the FOPS instead of just a ROPS, but I don't recall seeing anything else with the FOPS as original equipment (unless it has a cab).
