We have had a stuttering start to Spring here in New England but I think we are finally getting there. I agree that despite our sometimes too long Winters, at least we are not subjected to horrendous weather events like flooding, tornados and drought that some of our countrymen have to put up with.

Beautiful sunny day today in the low 50's here. Of course this being New England we will have rain and low 40s tomorrow and then sunny and 50's for a few mroe days. The daffodils are loving it though.

OK, you're right about spring not being very nice here yet, BUT I'd rather live in the Northeast than anywhere else. Let's all appreciate that we do not have tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, significant droughts, many poisonous snakes and spiders,...
OK, as a resident of NY I do have taxes though. Spring will be here, but thankfully tornadoes won't.

That is exactly what I tell my wife and friends!

None of the natural disasters hits us hard, and even if it does, we always get out of it within a day or so.

Spring is stinking in NC this year. The tornadoes over the weekend killed quite a few people. Could have been much worse but it was bad enough.

Four kids from about 18 months to 9 years old where killed taking shelter in a closet. One or two of the kids were cousin's of the other kids. The mother of the baby and one or two of the kids was in the closet. She was knocked out when a tree fell and killed three of the kids instantly. The baby died today.

A coworker lost an aunt in the storm. The coworker just had a brother KIA in Afghanistan last year. Talk about kicking a family when they are down.

We had a lightning bolt hit a tree 130 feet from the house. Nearest storm cell was 20-30 miles away. Just FLASH and BOOM! The strike blew bark 90 feet from the tree. I think the tree might live since the truck was not split.

The tree is in our FPA, Firewood Processing Area. :D I put logs under the tree, cut them into rounds, split them into cord wood and stack under the same tree.

I cut down a big dead tree a month or so ago. My next outdoor chore is to move the logs to the FPA. I had indoor chores to do Saturday so I was not outside working. Otherwise I would very likely have been under that tree when the lightning hit.

Not sure if the tractor's ROPS or the chainsaw helmet and chaps protect against a bolt of lightning. I surely do not want to find out. :D

Later,
Dan

It would be funnier if it wasn't so true. Here is where we are stalled at - I took these coming in our road yesterday. My wife makes the first rubarb pie every Mothersday. Won't happen this year.

Haha - love the OP! Keegs, not sure how far north you're headed, but Aroostook County is on the hit-list for up to 4-8 inches of snow for tomorrow! Ouch... sunny and 52 out right now - wish it would stay :(

INSTALLING SPRING...████████░░░░░░░░░ ░░ 33% DONE. Install delayed....please wait. Installation failed. Please try again.

Heavy sigh. 6-8 inches tonight. Sure, it'll be gone by Friday, but still.

I joked with my wife that one Spring won't install because it can't as long as another program is running. I told her to "Force Quit" Winter first, then perhaps Spring will install. :D
