Did some one cut off 1 ft off that trencher? Yep, you are right. I thought they were all 4 ft.
My trencher is a 4 footer, and it is almost worn out, chains and sprockets. The repair is upwards of $650, so don't know if it is worth it. The hyd motor could be used for something. Just looked at the replacement trencher for the PT-1445, and it is $2600. I still have the wheeled trencher/stump cutter.
I wonder if the sprocket and chain can be reversed, then the links would be striking the other side of the sprocket, which has no wear. Then reset the blades to trench in the right direction. Has any one done this yet? I checked all the replacement chain and sprocket on the net, and no body admits to making the trencher for PT. It must be foreign made. Did someone say that PT makes all their stuff in house, or assembles it in house.
