I don't want it to be political either. I just thought it was some info for those thinking of buying.

I don't really care about politics, tariff's, taxes. All out of our control and nothing we can do about it.
I don't even trust the election system.
Seems like every time the liberals here in Canada are way behind and then ta-da they win.

Yes, they came from far behind but this time we know why. Could it be considered foreign interference?

I had heard that but thought misunderstood...what is the reason why some and not others?
The US, Mexico and Canada already had a trade agreement, negotiated during Trump's first term. It covers about 80% of trade between US and Canada. Anything covered by the agreement is unaffected by the new import taxes. The new import taxes are only on things not covered by the existing agreement.

Heading to MI this week and my folks are about over the air quality alerts from Canadian wildfires. It's been bad the past several years, I mean, to the point we were closing airports on the east coast. Stop exporting all that pollution 😂

If I may, while we're having a neighborly conversation...
What is with these fires? I haven't watched "network" television since the hongkong flue or the election before and wouldn't go there for the truth anyway. I really haven't looked for an explanation over the years but It seems to have be a continuation every summer for about the past 4-5 years and I'm taking this opportunity to ask you guys.
I think they're mostly in the western provinces and it seems most of you guys participating are in the coastal east.
Is it simply dry and inaccessible vast area? The past few days here in Maine have been very hazy with orange sunrises and setting. I've never really smelled smoke but I'd hear from friends in the middle Atlantic region complain about the smoke occasionally.

Ya, well I'm sick of it too.

Here's a thought. I'm sure all kinds of people will tell me how stupid I am, but notice how hot the sun is now that we cleaned up all the smog with these great new emission engines? LOL It's kinda like taking down the umbrella.

We've been very lucky here this year. Up until now, we have not had a single day of smelling smoke in the air. This is very pleasant as several previous years we've had the smell of smoke about 50% of the summer days. Just had a thunderstorm pass tonight and can't help thinking about another wildfire here after losing over 100 houses in 2023.

I finally did some searching online. I really had no idea of how widespread and massive these fires are. Several of the articles did state that these big fires are a natural 100+ year event and NOT a new phenomenon!
I guess it's just our turn (in time) in the natural cycle.
Never once do I remember a news story talk about lost buildings, lives or the massive efforts with a lot of "foreign" participation.
From here on out I will not be whining about a little occasional haze and I'll be thinking about you Canadians while I feel a little stupid for not looking into this sooner!👍
