My 1700 of course doesn't have a water pump. And I know the 2000 has one. Where does it start at, anything below the 2000? I hope to have one someday that has a water pump. Mine doesn't get that hot all the time, but it does at times. So I think a water pump will have to be a must on my next one. You know like the potato chip, where you can't eat just one. Well, you can't have just one tractor, I think. My wife thinks one is enough though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm not sure of this, but I believe all 3 cyl. engines and 2 cyl. above YM1700 have waterpumps. It also appears that a YM2000 waterpump will bolt up to a YM1700. Several guys have done that.

I just got a "water pump kit" from Fredricks this week. It is complete and very easy to install. The only changes I had to make were cutting two bolts off about 3/16" and adding a couple of washers. I am glad I went that way because there is more to it than just buying a pump and putting it on. There are different hoses and plates.

Yeah, I got one from Fredricks when I rebuilt the engine on my 1700. Runs cool and don't have to worry about heat. I was mowing yesterday it was 97 degrees outside and my gauge never did get over 190. That's peace of mind to me.

My 1602D has a pump (and a 3 cyl engine) but no gauge, just an idiot light. Looking for a good place to mount some gauges soon.(I've seen all the threads of those who have already done so, just evaluating which would be best for my tractor.)

I was wondering if you had a number or website for Fredricks. I have a YM1700 that I want to install a water pump on. I just had the engine rebuilt, and I am very nervous about running my 1700 in the 220-230 temp range while bush-hogging in the hot Arkansas weather. I have cleaned everything with the radiator, inside and out, and it runs 190-200 when finish mowing/tilling/plowing, but the combination of heat, tall johnson grass and the bush hog seem to be too much for the thermo-siphon to handle.
Thanks
