The book that first came to mind is "Marine, the Life of Chesty Puller" by B. Davis. I must have read it least a dozen times by seventh grade. "Once a Marine..." about Vandegrift is another I read many times in elementary school.
Kinda funny when I am reading a history book and read passages that I know came from Davis's book.
Starship Troopers I have read a gazillion times as well. Short but brilliant book. The so called movie based on the book has been on the TV lately. Did not bother watching.
Lord of the Rings I have read a couple of times but honestly, the Harry Potter books are far better!

Heresy I know.
I have read the HP books at least twice. The last book several times and each time I have to go back and reread the last 200-300 pages AGAIN. Then I have to reread the last 10 pages or so.
Back to tractors. Yes, there is a link with Harry Potter and Tractors.
When I got the last book I started reading on Friday afternoon. Read until early Saturday morning and HAD to go to sleep. Got up and started reading. Either Saturday afternoon or Sunday I was getting close to the end of the book. The last 200-300 pages. Things were really starting to go in the story line....
The kids were running around the house being kids. They would not be quiet.... I needed quiet to follow Harry Potter....
I left the house and went back to sit on the tractor to finish reading the seventh Harry Potter book!

It was the quietest place I could find!:laughing::laughing:
