Just a follow-up on grass carp and algae...if there is anything, anything at all plant related in addition to algae in the pond, the grass carp will generally eat that first. Algae is kind of a last resort for them to avoid starving. Hence, grass carp are not generally recommended for algae control.

that's a nice looking decoy, at a great price. I'm not a fowl hunter (though I am told that I'm fowl sometimes). So, don't know much about decoys. How will these "lite" decoys hold up if left out in the weather year round? The garden statues will last 10 years or more without degradation of color and are virtually indistructable.

Hard to say, The body should hold up pretty good. I have some decoys that are probably 15 years old, but then again they are only out about 45 days per year. I think the paint job would be the first to deteriorate...but then again it needn't be perfect, might just require a touch up occasionally. Probably the statue would also need paint occasionally.
