That’s one of the biggest cons of a kubota (I went Kioti, treadle was actually a major factor). Very nice job and I guarantee you could sell the design to many.

Never use the brakes with a hydro.

I use the steering brakes with my hydro all the time. When working material up against a building, when pushing ice and snow etc to maintain your line. Of course Kioti had sense enough to put the split brakes over on the left side where they belong so they can be easily used.

My solution was simpler, but more expensive. I bought a John Deere. :cool2:

I saved the money and bought a Kioti. :)

Very nice mod and great workmanship, good job. That said I have no problems with the treadle pedal on my 04 BX23. Been working it for 16 yrs now and have never gone the opposite way than I've intended by accidently pushing the wrong pedal. (BTDT, had a JD before) Was mowing yesterday and thought I don't even have to think about changing directions it's almost automatic..... The treadle pedal on my BX23 is above board unlike the newer models so I don't know if that effects it or not.

Kudo's for making your machine work they way you want it to.

Kubota makes nice tractors, but the do lose some sales to some people who don't like the treadle. I'm thinking Kubota designers are too stubborn to change.

I still dont understand it at all. I have never, ever used my heel to go backwards. My heel is on the rubber mat. I just Slightly lift and angle my foot same as I do in a car. Still amazed people think with a treadle you have to use your heel for reverse. Anyway to each his own ;).

Hypothetically, If as a no cost option, you could choose a two pedal hydro, or the treadle, which would more customers choose?

I have limited mobility in a lot of my joints even before breaking my foot I had trouble. The Kubota was designed for a smaller guy unlike myself.
Before the mod I had a piece of plywood wired to the treadle to make it more comfortable. Part of the problem is the treadle is too far back.
Now I set the heal of my #10 steel toe boot on the floor and touch the pedal with my toe of boot. MUCH more comfortable.

That痴 something to be very proud of. Nice craftsmanship. People who are problem solvers have my highest admiration.

So true...everyone is so good at pointing out problems, but few take the time to solve them properly.

Nice job, OP!
