Came across this picture while cleaning out my fathers house.

My dad has no clue who she is, so the only thing we can figure is it must of been one of mom's friends and she took the pic.

Have that same radio (GE, in pink) in my garage.

Hair rollers, cigarettes and beer. I remember that life.

Oh BABY!

Going to other peoples houses, I always thought TV tray tables and those 40 pound self standing, clunky ashtrays odd.

My ex had one of those driers, I seem to recall they almost lived in them then wore a scarf over the rollers, cup of tea and a smoke.
I think I prefer today.

Miss the old days when you could have a good cheap beer in bed and Lucky Strike. Remember all the cigarettes burns on the coffee tables...? :cool2:

Today you can't even smoke out in the street without someone complaining about second hand smoke. 🚬

Maybe it's my age ( 51 ) but I often find myself thinking back to when I was 10-15 years old and how much has changed around me since then... personality, I think societal better then and less complicated... I remember my grandparents having a radio just like that one and my grandmother wearing the shower cap.. no beer or cigarettes though.
There is not much I wouldn't give to go back for a little while.

Growing up in the 50s and 60s was wonderful. I could play outside past dark and feel safe. Most people seemed kinder and friendlier and we never heard of "Stranger Danger".

If I acted up, my butt was blistered when my Father came home from work. I never got a whipping that I didn't deserve.

I think it the 50's and 60's were a great time.
Only had one wage earner families unlike two required today.
As kids we had to use our imagination to play.
Parents didn't worry about kids being outside by themselves.
As mentioned, when we did something wrong we got a whipping.
Hardly any fancy electronic stuff. We got our first TV in '55. Phones were mostly all party line.
It was a much simpler time and IMO the cost of living was much less than today.
There's too much to list to continue.
