yes you can do that. Do you have any pics? I did change the bowl and filter with no issue from after marker stuff and not OEM and yet have any issues. Below is exactly what I bought. With fuel bowl is easier to bleed the air out than in in-line filter but very much a doable thing. My fuel bowl was old and dry and it cracked when I tried to open it up to change the filter.Could I just by pass the original filter housing with a in line filter from the auto parts store-I’ve seen some pics of folks that have done that
I bought it from Kumar brothers at ebay. Just click the link. I actually think I bought two as they had a special pricing then. Take the outer ring that tightens it, clean it off and inspect. may be it is not cross threaded. They are good people to buy parts from if they stock them. This was my original bowl that became so brittle and as soon as I tried to open the retaining threaded ring the plastic bowl cracked.Thank you again JC-i do not have any pic’s right now but mine looks similar to yours-where did you purchase that from-I’d like to keep it original as possible-vs-rigging
Hey JC -i did replace that original fuel bowl with a aftermarket wix type ( car fuel filter) it works fine-but did have to bleed the air out only twice to get the tractor running-thank you for your knowledgeI bought it from Kumar brothers at ebay. Good, glad it worked. If you find a consumable that is not OEM but works well then my suggestion is to buy couple of extras (specially filters and such) or do take a note of what you bought for future reference. They just never get cheaper. One lift piston seal that I bought under $5 many years ago is now at least $30+Hey JC -i did replace that original fuel bowl with a aftermarket wix type ( car fuel filter) it works fine-but did have to bleed the air out only twice to get the tractor running-thank you for your knowledge![]()
Yea good idea-I’ve got a question about fuel injectors-is there a seal or washer that goes on the injectors between the injectors and the engine block-kinda like a spark plug hasGood, glad it worked.
