Ford 1310 Rough Start Idle

During the initial start-up of my Ford 1310 three (3) cylinder Engine, the engine runs rough with a knocking noise. After about 5 minutes the engine smooths out like nothing was wrong... Any assistance with this problem would be appreciated...Chief

do this everytime?

oil lamp go out at startup?

making any smoke?

clear up with throttle?

limited to one cyl? ie.. cracking injector line 1 at a time is it only 1 cyl.. if so.. ay not be fireing due to a fuel bleed issue..

any fuel around injector lines to indicate a leak? even a slow leak.. so might just be a moist spot?

Good Morning Soundguy...

Yes it does seem like a dead miss and does smoke at itinal idle...

The oil light does go out, and I am running the engine at approx, 550 rpm.

I did ck the glow plug in the event it was trying to startup with rough ruel going into the clyinder.

What drive me nuts is that the engine runs smooth one it is warmed up...

sounds like one injector line is leaking off and needing to reprime at startup.. perhaps bad coupling fromt he hardline to the injector?

have a 5000 that seeped fuel from the line to the injector for a few years before i finally found the issue..

550 rpm's is way to low, not just for startup, but even for warm idle. I will start mine at 1200 rpm's or so and then slow it down after a few seconds.

Warm idle is around 800 at the very least.
