I have a 1210 that had the same running problem (smoke, lack of power) it turned out there was trash in the the tank and filter. I cleaned the fuel system from tank to injectors and it has run great since. Good luck.

Thanks for your input Kevin. I am hoping that is much of my problem also. I have removed the fuel filter (it was filthy and partially sucked in) and the air filter (dirty and rusty) so I believe it's been awhile since the machine has seen proper maintenance. I also plan to drain & flush the fuel tank and fill with fresh diesel before firing her up again.
I see your down in VA. I have a sister who just this year took a professor position at a college in Danville, VA. I like it down around Richmond. Some what reminds of my childhood home of Iowa.
