Greetings JC, I have a Ford 1700. The tractor has 560 hours and has been sitting for the past 10 years. I bought it at an estate auction. The hydraulics worked very sporadically. I drained the hydraulic oil twice, cleaned the screen twice, vacuumed inside the opening where the screen is located. I replaced the lift cylinder seal, and cleaned the relief valve. I also opened up the pump and everything looked great. I also cleaned up the control valve. I replaced all o-rings as I worked through the system.
After all this work the 3 point doesn't work at all. I opened up the banjo bolts at the pump and hydraulic fluid was present. I spewed alot at the pressure side. I also loosened the pressure banjo bolt at the relief valve and pressurized hydraulic fluid spewed out. I attached a pressure gauge on the left side of the cylinder head, there was no pressure.
When I screwed in and out the bolt to the relief valve, there was a noticeable sound change coming from the hydraulic pump.
Do you have any ideas on what is wrong with my hydraulic system? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your assistance.
Phil
