It is typical for a heavy load on a bucket to push downward & dump as fast as possible. The weight of the load actually pushes the oil out of the hyd cylinders (on the open side, the oil can push out as fast as it wants to), and the other side of the cylinders simply vaccumn & extend (oil only comes in as fast as the pump supplies oil, & a 1710 does not have a very big pump).
As the bucket gets empty & reaches a balance point of it's own weight, it stops moving & waits for the hydraulics to catch up.
As the hydraulics continue to pump, it finally fills the push side of the hyd cylinders & moves the bucket again.
This is more noticable at idle speeds, less so at near full throttle when the pump is flowing more oil.
Is this the 'stick' you are talking about, or is the bucket really actually hanging up somewhere?
