While removing the front, right, tire on my Ford 1715 4-wheel drive, I broke the heads off of 5 very solidly rusted bolts. Then while trying to extract one, I broke off the extractor tip. I decided a trip to a machine shop would be a very good idea. I removed the hub and spindle and while cleaning it up, I noticed fragments of black between the flat part of the hub and the beginning of the spindle. I am having a very difficult time finding images or information that clarifies if there is a gasket or "O" ring or something else between these two pieces. I have attached a picture which I hope clarifies the location in question. Does anyone know if something is supposed to be there AND what I would search for or who might have it? Thanks!
