I've done the clutch on my 1715 twice. Second time because I did not use a OEM release bearing. Trying to remember where I got the pressure plate ... it was NOT OEM .... but I remember looking carefully at the OEM part and found an aftermarket part that appeared to be the exact same part, and on installation it did appear to be exactly the same as OEM .... bear in mind the 1715 had parts from all over ... I think both the aftermarket part and the OEM were both made in India. It came with an alignment tool, but no gauge. I checked the finger adjustment by eye, they all appeared to be the same so I just installed it .... has worked great. The lesson I learned was not to buy a discount release bearing, it lasted about two years.
I learned the same tractor split twice lesson!
Even though OEM parts are made overseas, I still will only buy OEM internal parts from OEM dealers.
Splitting a tractor twice, to replace cheaply made after market parts, is not my idea of fun!
