Ford 1900 Cold Start Problem

I have a Ford 1900 tractor and it appears that the glow plugs have stopped working. The tractor starts but it takes a lot more cranking than normal. I'm new to this and need to ask some stupid questions.

I think I have the glow plugs located, looks like three plugs on a bus bar. How can I check to make sure that they are the problem?

If they are the problem I'm thinking they just come out of the engine like spark plugs, is that right?

If you think they might not be the problem where do I look?

Am I asking the right questions?

Yes the glow plugs are attached by a flat bar. Remove it and they come out like spark plugs. Though I have to remove the fuel line and rebleed the pump after to get the forward most one out on my 1210. You can check the resitance with an ohm meter, a good one is around 1-6 ohms. You can also hook the bar back up, wrap a wire around the threads, run it to the negitive battery terminal and trigger the glow plugs. After a few seconds they'll glow, or not and then you'll know which ones to replace.

Sorry I've so slow to get back. On the 1900 it is simple to get to and check and it appears I have 2 out of 3 plugs no longer working. Thank you for telling me what to check.
