Bill,

The hot still on the right and cold is on the left of the dial. The only goofy thing was that in normal off position the needle rests on the right side. I found it bassackward when I first saw it convinced that there was something wrong there. Only by testing and after reading the manual I realized by design the needle rests passed hot when off... go figure:rolleyes:

OK Jim I am trying to decide if you are goofing on us or what. I have never seen a temp guage where hot is on the left. All the guages I have seen sweep left to right increasing in number the further to the right it goes.

Bill, I really don't know how I got my head so screwed up on this.:eek: As you suggest, temperature gages normally sweep left to right; however, vertical gages normally sweep down to up. My gage on my tractor is a sorta half-vertical to half-horizontal sweep as shown below. I think I had that image burned into my brain and just couldn't get over it. Again, thanks for keepin' me on the "straight and narrow.":)

Jim, I always read your post because of your expertise and common sense. After seeing you guage I understand your thinking. If it was tunned a little further it would read right being cold and left being hot.
Bill
