Great PIC!yep bought the tractor with 85 hours on it and just want to make sure that everything is taken care of properly.. What about the tranmission and hyd fluid? Had some one tell me that it takes 5 gallons of hy-tran fluid. How do you tell if there is enought fluid in the tranmission?

Of course you may be correct, but the chances of buying a 20+ year old tractor with 85 actual hours on it is quite remote.

Thanks for the info, I'll take a look at the filter thats on the tractor and do a cross reference. I'll look at getting the manual for the tractor also that would be a great help!

Wix filters and napa filters are the same (I believe). I looked up all the filters for my ford 1710 on the wix link provided in the thread and they are the same as I got from napa. The NAPA store here had a book and was able to look up the proper filters for me. I'm sure the NAPA store there can to. That is if NAPA is nationwide.

I second that. The operator manual for the Ford 1910 explains how to perform all of the requirement maintenance procedures.

I am not sure that I would spend any time trying to crossmatch filters and things -- just go to the New Holland dealer and buy the right stuff until you get real comfortable with the parts.

I am not sure how you "change" the oil in the injector pump -- I think you are just supposed to add more to replace what gets lost during engine operation. You can use the same oil that you use as motor oil.

The transmission and the hydraulic system use the same fluid. My 4x4 1910 holds about 29 quarts, which is little over 7 gallons. The procedure is to warm up the fluid (harder than you might think) and drain it -- there are three different drain points on the 4x4. You should drain/replace the hydraulic filter, too.

Once again, go buy the operator manual and all of the regular maintenance items will be covered, including the schedule and procedures. You can find one on the Web, or at New Holland.

No oil gets used up. You only loose oil if shaft seal are damaged or pump body has a crack. Injector oil is separate from crankcase and not shard. procedure is simple and was explained before. Please look at the link below.

That actually is more accurate than linking info on a 1700 and presuming it applies to a 1910. It does not. Computer Guy's post is accurate for a 1910. Once again, an operator's manual for the model in question typically has correct info.

I stand corrected once more by Rick:), However on the link that I posted, if you refer to post #9 I did have a scan of procedure for 1910 and it "does say on 1910 the oil in the injector is common with crankcase". Only, I could not remember it.

Some alternates for the WIX 51512 oil filter:

Fram 2870A also fits, and the WIX 51773 works- it is the same on filter gasket size and threads, with a longer body (6.9 inches) and more filter area.

Just something to think about.
