I git you now....Since I have already admitted to being stupid, what would be your suggestion on checking for other problems, especially without the driveshaft?

FYI I needed front axle repair on my 1700, dealer did all work total cost $2500 back on '00

Are there plugs or covers over the front and rear driveshaft connection points? Any photos to post?
Like JC said, jack up the front end and check out the gears, rotation, sound.
