I have just bought a 1966 Ford 2000 diesel, the 3pt hitch is very slow to raise, if I increase the rpm's it will raise, it does not leak down once the implement is raised. I removed the hydraulic fluid check port, but it just flowed out, I am thinking that it is overfilled, and it was also a milky color.. maybe I should call it a coffee creamer color... I am thinking that this is not right.. I have not checked the screen at the hydraulic pump yet, but I am sure that will be on the list to do tomorrow. Any input as to the problem, and any other insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Travis

Could sure be wet oil and plugged filter. Hyds and rear end are common.

I'd drain the oil out, dump in 2g diesel, 2 quarts dex/merc ATF, and at least 2 if not 3 pints of 90% better rubbing alcohol, then do a few victory laps around the yard. After the Laos, exercise the lift with no load and see if it has improved.

Wet filters usually obstruct flow.

Alcohol is a polar solvent, water is polar..

Diesel thins oil, petro solvent.
.atf provides a low level temp lube, and has detergents to suspend gunk to be drained at this flush.
