Anyone have any tips on how (if at all) to get the bushing out of the top link rocker? Mine need to be replaced. I tried hitting it and soaking it some, have Kroil on order. Don't want to bust the rear housing though...

Heat it, then let it cool. Spray with pentetrating oil. Try to knock out. Repeat if necessary.
If all else fails, carefully slot the bushing with a cutting torch and knock out.

My '65 3000 has a solid pin. I used to have a 66 3000 also and noticed numerous changes over the 65...manufacturing reductions to cut costs. 65 was the first year for the 3 cyl. and like other things (An '88 Ford turck I had as compared to 89 and 90 models) later issues are scrutinized for areas to reduce costs and still maintain functionality.
