I've located a Ford 2000 3-cyl gas that has an 8-speed transmission (4 speed with hi-low ranges). I think I've read on this site that the 2000 also came in a 6-speed, and that version ran kind of too fast for some tasks, even in 1st gear. Will the 8-speed be slower in 1st?
I currently have a Ferguson 35 with a 6-speed (3 speed with hi-low) and if this Ford 2000 can run as slow as that it would serve my purposes. The Ferguson runs 0.59 mph in 1st gear, low range at 1,000 rpm. Will the Ford be about the same?
