Hello to you all from Worcestershire in the UK,
problem as follows:
make & model: Ford 2120 compact tractor (built 1995)
problem: low engine speed (rpm) when the hand throttle is set to idle (minimum) or maximum (with no load), same problem with foot throttle. All parts appear to be in place.
action: followed owners manual procedure for adjusting the idle and maximum no load engine speed (this is to adjust the stop nut for the idle speed, and the turnbuckle for the maximum no load speed)
result: highest idle and maximum engine speeds when the turnbuckle as far as possible from the stop nut (this seems the wrong way round to me, as it presumably lengthens the cable), but still below specification, for both hand and foot throttle. Pulling on the cables does raise the engine speed further, but I don't want to try shortening them by ways not recommended in the manual, until I've asked around (and understand why the adjustments I've made have the effect they have).
Any suggested fixes?
