Hi everyone

New to the forum. Everytime I looked up something I seemed to be directed here so thought I would join.

Anyway, recently purchased a Ford 3000 diesel. It has one hydraulic auxiliary port out the rear. What I am trying to understand is what I need to do to run a double acting ram off it so I can use some of my existing equipment.

Thanks and regards
Aaron

You'll have to find an aftermarket kit, or possibly find an OEM one in a salvage yard to do what you want. I put a dual remote kit on my '65, 2000 15 years ago, and never sorry I spent the extra money for the dual remote set up. Nice to have the extra set for a tilting top link, plus the other for an attachment. A must have for my fully hydraulic post driver.

Right now there is a single OEM one on epay for $168.00, buy it now. But would personally suggest finding a dual set up. There are many on the net if you look. Prices vary a lot too. Just have to decide what you want to spend.

Thankyou DJ54

Have looked into it more and it seems if I buy one of these

HV4902 - Hydraulic Adapter Kit w/ O-Rings for Ford / New Holland | TractorJoe.com

and an appropriate spool valve and hoses I can do what I want?

This fits under the existing top of your hyd distribution cap on top of the midsection in front of the seat. It basically gives you an output and input for remotes. A 2 way OPEN center valve is required.....Open center means hyd fluid flows through it all the time. Actually it flows through it and back into the tractor to operate your 3 pt. so you need it to be OC.

TSC has the QD's and all the hyd fittings, and the bracket that attaches under a bolt in your axle housing to differential housing giving you a convenient place for the QDs. 1/2" is the plumbing size for the supply lines in and out and the load lines can be 3/8 or 1/2. The hyd pump doesn't put out but about 5-7 thereabouts gpm which is not a lot so 3/8 lines should suffice. However reducers will be required on the valve. The adapter is plumbed to 1/2 already. The in/out ports on most 2 way valves are 3/4 and the load ports are usually 1/2. So both will need reducers if you go with 3/8 on the load lines.

I mounted my control on my left side, making an extension plate allowing me to move my left fender out enough to provide the necessary room. To get the height I wanted I used a pice of 4" square pipe, attaching that to the axle housing and putting the valve on top. This gave me a comfortable, drop your hand to get to it control without having to bend over.

The OEM version of this has the controls on the adapter and sticks out the front which would be in my way mounting and dismounting which, besides the cost, is why I went the way you seem to be headed. No regrets.

Hi again everyone. Purchased a HV4902 from the states and it arrived. So I figure it put a supply and return hose to the appropriate holes on a dual acting controller and I am right to go. My question is - I already have an original controller for a single acting ram. That is what will be on top of it not a solid plate. 1) Will this still work? 2) Will I still be able to use the single hydraulic line I have?

Thanks again

Hi again all

Still in the process of fitting this. Tractor at farm. Adapter here with me. I measured the distance between ports on adapter and valve block but have now realised hoses may be on left side when installed. So can someone pls tell me when sitting on the seat which side of the adapter plate the hoses come out of on a 3000
