Looking to sell My Ford 3400. Not exactly sure on the year. I am going to guess in the later years.


720 Front End Loader
3 cyl gas 49hp (which is More than the diesel was @ 46hp)
4400hrs
4 speed with Hi/Lo
Pie wheel weights(some missing)
Loaded tires
3 point hitch
Live PTO
NEW clutch, pressure plate, Throw out bearing, generator, battery, cap, rotor, points, condenser, plugs, wires(I have receipts for all this) with 25-35 hours on it
New seat
I have New tire chains on it.
A quick tach bucket and Forks
72" John Deere finish mower
3pt 7' scraper blade.

The tractor runs Great, with no smoke, leaks or oil usage

What do you think it is worth?

Very good tractor.
Basically a 3000 with a heavy duty front axle for loader work.
Might be rated 46/49 HP at the flywheel
But rated at the pto at 37 or 38 HP at the pto according to Nebraska Test # 881.
Yours is not pretty but I believe it probably does run good.
I'm going to just throw some numbers off the top of my head.
Tractor $5000
Finish mower $600
Blade $200
Chains $200
If you sell it as a package you will likely net less $ than if you sold it by the piece.
Package deal - maybe $6000
Prices in PA/NY North east are some of the highest in the country.

post the serianl number and date code fromthe bellhousing or foil underhood tag and UD or I will give you the year.. might or might not help it sell better.. some people like to know that stuff.. ( collectors usually.. ) so may not help.. but it's free to find out.

Serial number and unit code are in conflict; s/n says 1970, unit code says 1973. Take a better look at the s/n.

Well I sold it this AM. Ended up getting $5300 w the bucket, forks and rear blade. I kept chains and mower. Anyone need a Mower? LOL

I think you did real well. It is a real good model but still old so not worth a whole lot.
Did you get rid of it because the 260C has a loader which makes the 3400 redundant?
I almost bought a 260C last winter but it had torque converter problems and wasn't worth his asking price so I walked away.
I'd like to have one though - with FWA.

The ONLY reason I sold the 3400 was that I Need 4wd. And the 260C has that. The 3400 was a great tractor to me and I loved it. I am sure my dad is looking down at me shaking his head. He always had 8Ns and Finally found a 3000 and a Wagner loader . But he passed before he could put it together
