Ford 3910
Does anyone know how the heck this front drive shaft for a Ford 3910 comes apart? I see no slip yoke or anything normal. The front has some airplane wire retaining screw thing. I can find nothing online and the manual set I have only shows how to split a 2wd not 4x4. It’s the last thing I need apart to split the tractor for clutch replacement. I managed to get the guard on the front slid back and every bolt I could find out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That is a waterproof driveline, maybe a rice tractor. The parts book shows a roll/split pin, which it could be, in the front coupler. Cut the wire and see if it unscrews or drive it out.

Thank you TractorTech that screw with aircraft wire was the retaining screw for the smooth yoke. Once removed I was able to slide it back. The troubles continue though. The tractor doesn’t want to come apart. I have it split about 1/2” all the way around the bell housing and it does not want to keep moving forward. I’m not sure what’s holding it. But the clutch was completely gone when I bought the tractor. So maybe the input shaft if not sliding out easy. I’m not sure I have some big breaker bars I’m prying it apart with but it’s fighting me for ever smidge of movement. 🥵

I've had some tractors where the clutch was stuck pretty bad like that. I have an old 9/16 box end wrench around somewhere that I customized. It's bent at 90 degrees with a 1/2" drive socket welded on such that I can go through the starter hole with this on a long extension and break the clutch pressure plates bolts loose. Working the flywheel around I can remove all the bolts leaving the clutch assembly on the shaft and roll the tractor apart. Haven't used it all that often but it does work.

The OP must be from the south. I haven't heard his name used since high school though. :ROFLMAO:

Same "custom" tool for installing pre 1984 torque converters too.
