Hello all,

This weekend i will start the repair of this oil leak, but i still have a doubt.

Is the seal you mention inside the rear axle or is this seal the one that can be seen in the picture above where the brake lever gets inside the rear axle.

Once again, thank you all for the help.

The seal is external to the axle housing. It's a rubber cup like device that the brake rod goes through. It seats in the hole in the axle housing from the outside. You do not have to remove the axle housing. Drain the transhydraulic fluid out to get the level below the seal. Just disconnect the brake rod from the external linkage and use a screwdriver under the lip of the brake rod seal to pry it out of the axle casting. Remove the old seal from the rod and clean the rod of any dirt or debris. Put some transhydraulic fluid on the new seal and slide it onto the rod and push it back into the rear axle housing, making sure it seats fully. Reconnect the linkage.
