I have a Ford 3930 that is having the fuel solenoid issue. It is not getting enough power to allow the tractor to start. I ran a cable straight from the battery to the switch and it will start but at that point it will not go into gear. I am assuming that is some sort of safety mechanism that will not allow it to go into gear. It will go into gear when the tractor is not running. It does not grind or anything it is like the shifter I hitting a stop. Any ideas. I am going to track down the wiring issue but would like to get it in the shop first not sitting in the field.

Does your tractor have the standard gear shift transmission (4 forward gears, 1 reverse 2 ranges? called an 8x2 trans). If so the engine issue and shifting issue are unrelated, I would put the tractor in gear, start it then let out the clutch and drive it in, if needed you can jumper out the neutral safety switch.
I didn't even know that tractor had a fuel solenoid, I thought it was all the same as the 3910.

I got the fuel issue taken care it was a bad ground behind the fuse box. My transmission has 4 gears with H/L with forward and reverse lever by the steering wheel. I got it shoved in gear yesterday but when I push in the clutch it does not disengage when running. It has been sitting a while due to the fuel issue and I had one guy say the clutch was stuck and to tie it down for a few days. I will try that next. Thanks for the input any other ideas appreciated.
