At my work place we have a Chev 2500 HD with the 6.0l(2015),and a 2014 2500 also with 6.0l.Both same trucks, both bought new..The 2014 has power to spare, hooks up and goes, the 15 is a gutless dog.The 14' also has twice worn lobes on cam and needed replaced within the first 20,000 miles.Just my experience. Dealership claims idling kills these engines?

Dunno..Everyone I know with a 6.0 absolutely loves them for pulling campers and the like..If they are in the oil fields an idling 24 hours a day (I have a neighbor who says this goes on). All bets are off. That's not good for anything.

Bikeman111, The oil cap on the 6.0s that I have at work say you must use Dexos approved oil. I was told using the wrong oil can cause cam wear. I am not sure if regular oil meets the Dexos requirements or not, but I switched them all to full synthetic. We currently run 6.0Ls in 5 trucks.
