If you converted a 6 volt positive ground system to negative ground, would the starter motor run backwards?
If positive ground, should the feed wire to the coil attach to the negative post and the positive coil terminal attach to the distributor?
Or does any of this matter?

Thanks,
Knots

First off the starter does not care, it will run just fine regardless of which is ground. Oh and for the record the starters are all the same no matter if used on a 6V or 12V system.

As for the coil if your system is positive ground the the "+" terminal of the coil goes to ground (distributor) and a negative ground system the coil should have the "-" terminal to ground (distributor). The coil will work if it is reversed but it will not be delivering optimal spark.
