Ford 6600
Hi all

I have a Ford 6600 which has been acting up. The FEL hydraulics are not working, yet the TPL is fine. Doesn't matter what position the pump valves are set the FEL only wants to go down.
I did have a bit of an issue the other day when it started playing up and I checked the oil - level - it was way down, but is now full.
Any assistance and advice would be appreciated before I start on an expensive search and rescue exercise.

Cheers

If you have QD's in the loader, check and reset.

Is the 3pt in neutral?

I have to show my ignorance here!!!

QDs? What are they?

And what setting is Neutral for TPL. Up Down or Mid? which are the three I can get. I have to confess to being quite a beginner here!!

Cheers

QD's=quick disconnects on hyd lines. 3 pt control valve should be in neutral as long as one can't hear relief valve squealing. Does loader operate from an ind control valve or rear remote valves(scv's)??

I don't think I have Quick Disconnects on hydraulic lines they look pretty permanent to me.
Engine makes a lot of noise cant hear anything squealing - maybe I have to take my earmuffs off?

Cheers

PS - Sorry but it would appear I am a bit ignorant here even though I have owned the tractor for over six years!!!

You still haven't answered Jim's question. What controls the operation of the loader? The tractor remote valve(s) a separate two spool valve mounted on the loader, or maybe both? Are there any hoses for the loader plugged into the external hydraulic outlets on the back of the tractor, and if so, how many? Since there can be more than one configuration for loader hydraulics on a 6600, you need to help identify a bit more about how this is set up before anyone can offer any meaningful suggestions.

OK
Sorry to appear dumb, but the controls that operate the FEL and the TPL are just below the seat in the tractor.
There is a valve which goes in or out. It is hard to shift I generally use my heel.!!!
and a lever which is fully up or down or three quarters up which seems to set the TPL into float mode.
Doesn't matter which combination I have I cant get the FEL to work - but the TPL does work which indicates that the pump is working but have I stuffed the valves running the oil level down?
Cheers

You are posting on a thread that is 3 years old.
Best to start your own thread about your problem.

Suggest you post some photos so we can see what you are talking about.
Have you operated tractors this size before?
