Greetings,
I have been on the hunt for a loader for my 6600. Today, I found a 7410 loader that's on a 4630 Tractor. The bolting pattern looks similar in the pictures. Any idea if the bolt patterns are the same between these two tractors? Thanks for looking.
1976 Ford 6600 8/2 tranny (w/ dual range underdrive). When I bought this some years ago it had a cap on the tranny for hyd fluid but no dipstick there. The dipstick at the driver's left heel is 5" long. I purchased a tranny cap with integral dipstick (11" long). Like having two wrist watches...
The 6600 we got had about half a turn of play in the steering wheel. All the ball joints were sloppy from the connection at the Pittman all the way to the tie rods. The ball joints are wallered out. In the process of removing the tie rods, one of the ball joints is stuck in the center piece both...
A few weeks ago I bought a tractor from an auction. I was able to get it going and on to the trailer. Got it home and changed all of the fluids and filters and a few degraded fuel lines. Bled the injectors and after a few puffs of smoke it was up and running again. I used the tractor for an...
I had to jump my ford 6600 off because the battery was dead, it cranked and i run it about 5 minutes then i had to cut it off and do something. When I came back to jump the tractor off again i couldnt jump it off with battery cables hooked to another vehicle and it wouldnt crank after...
Hi. We have a Ford 6600 with a front end loader. It is a great machine. It needs new seals as it has slow leaks. I would be happy to find a local mechanic or someone who wants to work on it at a reasonable rate to help us get it into great shape and keep it that way. David
A cover (power steering pump?) on the right side of the tractor with several bolts around it has blown the figure 8 shaped gasket 4 times with a load on the front, the last two times very violently. Someone suggested the bypass is clogged? Hoping for guidance to nail down this problem and get...

Hi all,
Recently purchased a Ford 6600 tractor with an old front-end loader in Australia. The previous owner didn't do any maintenance & the old girl had been sitting for some years. I changed all of the fluids & filters as most fluids were very low/dirty.
The hydraulic selector valve was...

I have a 5600 already and love it but am looking for a second tractor. Don't need nothing but the same really.
Your thoughts are appreciated.
I just bought a '79 6600 with a cab.
It had been my understanding that the cab-even on tractors as old as the 6600-functions as a ROPS. However, the machine has no seatbelt and I was just informed, very emphatically, by someone with more experience with this stuff than I have, that the cab on...
I have a Ford 6600 with the serial number beginning with ZX. This is the Protecto Plate. All numbers on the Protecto Plate match numbers on the tractor rear axle, tranny etc. The second picture is the transmission right behind the starter.
The New Holland book list a 6610S being manufactured...
Hi all. Have added a Ford 6600 to our Ford 861. Both diesels. The 6600 Operators Manual shows the ignition key switch as having five positions. Straight up is Off, to the right (Clockwise) are On and Start. CCW are Heat and Heat-Start. On this tractor though, the key does not turn CCW. It seems...
I live in NW Michigan. Our local airport is taking sealed bids on a 1979 Ford 6600 2wd with a Dunham Kehr loader model 22, loaded tires, rear chains, dual remote hydraulics and heated\AC cab. It has 3892 hours. The airport manager said it was used exclusively for mowing and doesn't have any...
I have a 1994 Ford 6600. It is believed to be British made, basically a Ford 5000 with the bigger motor. I have been working on he hydraulics putting in new gaskets, changing the oil and cleaning the suction filter. After removing the hydraulic pump and the cover plate on the opposite side I...
I have a Ford 6600 which is graymarket so it is the same as a 5000 with a bigger motor. I am in the process of removing the hydraulic pump and am having difficulties. It is unbolted and it will come out about an inch and that is it. I read that you need to disconnect the PTO supply line...
I have a Ford 6600 and the PTO seal is leaking. In looking in the manuals and parts book it appears as if one could simply remove the rear cover and replace the seal. If anyone has experience with this I would appreciate their knowledge.
Hi all
I have a Ford 6600 which has been acting up. The FEL hydraulics are not working, yet the TPL is fine. Doesn't matter what position the pump valves are set the FEL only wants to go down.
I did have a bit of an issue the other day when it started playing up and I checked the oil - level...
I have a 6600 not sure of the year yet, but my power steering is leaking out of what appears to be a weep hole in the steering column. Does anyone know what could be going on here?
Hi All, If anyone can help i have a Ford 6600 and i have a front blade on it. recently whilst using in the paddock i hit a bump in the field and the front blade hydraulically
will not go up anymore. The rear point linkage works perfectly. Any suggestions?
Hi, my 3pt is lowering accurately, holding forever, but it only raises when I play with the lift lever or the speed adjuster. My oil has no signs of water and is at a good level, and I changed the filter. What could be the broblem?

changed all 4 12 foot hydraulic lines from a 777b ford loader to the fittings behind seat. they connect to tubing on the loader. the bucket moves very slow now, and the 3 point hitch is slow too. just bought this used 1976 model tractor and trying to find out if there is a trick to changing...
Righto, Have been pondering about going up a tyre size or two for my 6600, currently has 18.4x30,can I use the likes of a 6640 18.4x34? or too big? There will be enough HP but any other problems such as gearing? I have big 1000 or 1100x16 on front,I need to get some more weight to the rear for...
I just came across a 1980 Ford 6600 tractor with a Freeman loader, bucket, and forks. Tractor runs strong, everything appears to be in good condition. I'm not familiar with the Freeman loader though. The owner is asking $8000. Any thoughts on this tractor/loader?
