I am a new member to the forum, and a novice with hydraulics. I own a 1989 Ford 1720 with FEL, 3PH post hole digger, and rear plow. The tractor has factory installed rear hydraulics consisting of two female quick connects. I believe these lines are run by a lever next to the 3ph hydraulic lever. The lever running these lines has the ability to lock in one open position.
I just purchased a used Ford 757B backhoe of roughly the same year. The backhoe has 1/2" male QC's on 1/2" lines...Too large to plug into the female QC's on the tractor.
My questions...
1. Can I change the qc fitting on one of the tractor's rear lines to feed the backhoe?
2. If I can use the tractor's rear line, do I have to run the return line from the BH to someplace else on the tractor? If so, where?
3. If the rear hydraulics on the tractor are not suitable to run the backhoe, where exactly do I run lines from and to? Is there a video or diagram someplace? I'm not terribly familiar with the hydraulic layout under my machine...
Thanks in advance for any help.
