Ford 861 PTO not engaging

will the bearing carrier rotate in the rear housing or is it stuck tight?

I don't know. I didn't check it last time I had it apart.

if it is stuck tight.. that may still be what's holding you up. if it rotates.. it's for sure in that rear spline.. just not much else it could be.. the shaft is straight and passes thru a seal..

Thanks. If the bearing carrier is what's hanging up (stuck, won't rotate), how do I get it free? If, however, it's in the rear spline, what process do I use to break it loose?

if it's the bearing carrier.. just use a couple pry bars and a camming motion and pop it out.

if it's int he rear spline and coupler.. you gotta disassemble back there..
