I was already convinced the one I saw is too big. But here are specs for the modern version:

Center mount - not offset

No way will my equipment lift the offset equivalent of that!

Yup. My first tractor after retiring from the Navy. Four Chinese and a John Deere since then.

Had a 917 given to me couple days ago. Needs roller bearings. Shaft from gear box to belt pulley has been ran with frozen bearing. Needs builtup where bearing froze and ground down shaft. Knives are very good. Lookin forward to trying it out in a few days. I'll post some pics and updates as I repair it.
