Re: Ford & Chrysler announced \"Employee pricing today\"

The domestic needs every advantage to catch up to the foreign market! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif To bad it is too little to late here. You do not see Lexus/ Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin or Ferrari doing the good-old "rollbacks"/discounts! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Before you know they will all have the Christmas Tree Shops song!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nissan and Toyota can criticize, but if this seriously cuts into their sales they will have no choice but to join the circus.

Re: Ford & Chrysler announced \"Employee pricing today\"

I seriously doubt it will hurt there sales since over half of these buyers are re-peat buyers. I for one will be another Lexus owner. Having owned several Fords, wife owned some GM’s and it would take more then a little discount to buy these autos. You could sell it to me at dealer price or 10% off the dealer and I would not take it.

For me repeatability, quality, ride, performance, etc are #1; not price.

Most of these autos I listed, along with others, never even had the 0.0% finance deal like last years wild wild west show!

I like you am holding out until Rolls Royce has a employee sale... A Lexus is nothing but a Toyota dressed up. If you want luxury, get the real thing.. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Ford & Chrysler announced \"Employee pricing today\"

I agree on the RR ....but ride in a Toyota Camry and then a Lexus ES300 or 330. Two completely different worlds. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It is more then a symbol on a car my friend.

Even my aunt as a Camry and she loves my ES..

As I posted on 1-18-2005

"I love it what someone states a Lexus is a ".. dressed up Camry". First ride in both and tell me that. #2 far nicer interior on ES #3, better options on the ES that are not available on the Camry, #4 ES has quieter doors, $5 I do not see HIDS on Camary., #6 better warranty on ES. I know my car is worth XXX dollars but I did not pay retail nor care. Also in 2001 it was only 25% the same as Camary. A close family member has a Camary and it is not like mine. "

My point is that most foreign manufactures do not NEED discounts to sell there cars. They sell themselves.

Yep, nothing says "quality" like British automobiles! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That may be true, but I'm holding out until Peugeot or Renault have their big sales! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Ford & Chrysler announced \"Employee pricing today\"

Right you are, ride 900 miles in a 14 yr old LS400, then in any other GM or Chrysler and you'll know that there is a difference.

You also do not see any of those models towing a tractor, boat etc. down the highway either. I guess I will keep my F250 for awhile. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
