Ford E150 P2197 Check Engine Light

OH Man!!!!!!! How bad is it when you start a thread specifically asking were something is, or how to whatever, and then you screw things up anyway. I feel like a complete morooooooon. I did install it in the wrong bank!!!!!!!! This is actually VERY good, hopefully this will really fix things now. Please excuse the my goof up!

One thing I have learned over the years is never assume a part you buy from the local auto parts store is good. You can get a bad one from time to time and if you are a methodical trouble shooter like me it can drive you crazy.

I have replaced parts in a logical order before assuming everything I bought was good only to come full circle and find out the first part I bought was a bad one.

Sometimes the best way is to "borrow" parts from a buddy with a like vehicle just to isolate problems. Also, a lot of parts have electrical or vacuum trouble shooting you can do on the bench. Most people won't take the time to do this.

I agree with you 100%. I recently replaced an alternator, I used one of the remans from Napa. I have usually had good luck with Napa, but this thing was completely dead. It was no trouble to swap it out, but still an inconvience.
BTW, I swapped O2 positions and cleared the code, and I have about 45 miles with out the CEL coming on!
