Here is a question for the dealers that visit here. I am able to get the Ford employee discount on New Holland tractors. Is this a set number that all dealers have to go by? The reason I ask is that we are planning on buying a TZ25 to use as a lawn mower and I was given a price of $12,500 from one dealer for the TZ 25 with 60" mmm and $10,080 for the same tractor from another dealer.

You can use Ford employee special pricing at JD, but the savings are small. Usually under $500. No discounts on compact tractors. Smaller mowers only.

You will need a Ford PIN # at JD to get the A/Z or X plan pricing.

I just bought a Case DX29 on that plan. You should get it at dealer cost for the tractor. It would seem that the dealer cost would be the same from one place to another. My dealer said he will get 6% of this cost as a credit against future orders from CNH, but he only found this out after spending some timre reading all the paperwork that goes with deal. If you finance it, be prepared for even more paperwork. You will need to insure it for the term of the finance package, but your homeowners insurance should have it covered under personal property. That won't prevent them from trying to sell you insurance, however.

Robert, I had the same experience when I purchased my TC33 on "A" plan. I don't recall the exact amount, but there was considerable difference in price from two NH dealers. Somewhere around $1500.00 I think. I went to a Case dealer and his price was within pennies of the lower NH dealer price. I believe those two dealers gave me true "A" plan pricing while the other NH dealer, well, let's just say he didn't /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. I don't know about a "set number", but the dealer I bought from told me it was dealer cost.

All our equipment is covered under our farm insurance. All I need to do is call my agent and give him the serial number as well as the model and it is added.

I was thinking that all dealers were suppose to go off of the same price list and hopefully a dealer will inform me of the specifics of the plan. Thanks though.

Yes, its a set number. Anyone on A-plan buys at invoice cost plus the dealers regular rates for setup and delivery. There is then a 6% kickback from CNH. We are about 30 minutes away from New Holland PA so we do this alot.

Since those prices are supposed to be the same, at least by region, would you feel imposed upon if someone asked you what the base prices were? Could you perhaps PM him with the dealer cost in your zone?

it would not really help. Freight and setup costs are totally different. I could only fill in about 1/3 of the equasion with figures that I know for fact.

Robert, when I bought my TC-40D several years ago, the dealers all looked the price up in the same book (its kind of a code, made to look like part numbers in their regular book) so they all start at the same price. Unfortuneately, many dealers add on all kinds of things, beyond the destination charges. Some can have highly inflated prep charges, etc. Shop around a bit. Anyone who's high, but you still want to work with him, ask him what's the deal. Maybe he'll include picking up your tractor for service or includes some routine maintenance. With my purchase, I got a good price, but nothing else was included except labor on the first 50 hour check. I had to get it there and pay for parts.

I am use to dealing with dealers and I talked to the salesman about the price and he apoligized about the price as the Manager of the store is not allowing them to deal like they should. It does bother me as this is my local dealer and is 2 miles away so I still give them a ton of business every year between parts, service and twine (just gave them $1400 for tires yesterday). However, equipment wise they are out of their minds. The other NH dealer is 40 minutes away and he was $1k cheaper on a NH 163 tedder and over $2k cheaper on the TZ 25. So if we do buy it will most likely be from the further dealer but still buy all our parts and supplies for it from my local dealer. They will be given a chance to match the price even though I don't care for the fact they jacked all their prices up.

I do know how to read the prices in the book also. The salesman I deal with is a good guy and when I play around pricing tractors he just opens the book up for me to price out different options (TV's and TS-A's have a lot of options compared to TC/Z's and TN-A's). But there are two people in this dealership that have attitudes and will rip my salesman a new one if he gives me too good of a price even though I have bought quite a bit from them.

So if you add all the numbers up I think my local dealer is hurting while the further dealer is not. The only thing I haven't done is price out a Case-IH version but all my work tractors in the barn are blue and they will get mad if I added a red one (even if it is a cousin /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).
