Ford F-150 any good?

Jan of this year my employer bought 3- 2013 F-150s. They are all 2wd super crew cabs with 5.0 v8. They all have +-20,000mi on them now without any problems. I have put several miles on each one and have been very pleased with their power, ride quality, instrument layout and fuel economy (20-22). Being a life long GM truck guy I never thought that would be so impressed by a Ford, enough to consider one for my next truck even.

No, just be aware what you're getting into. If you want to turn the key for fifteen years and little else, get the 5.0.

That's exactly why I was shopping the 5.0 over the Ecoboost when I looked at the F-150's. I was willing to trade off some performance and towing ability for reliability for a longer period of time.

The F-150 is the most sold truck in the world.

Have you looked at the 2014-2015 GMs? They made huge improvements. Buying a truck has been a 5-6 year process for me, so I feel like I have seen and driven a lot of trucks. When I last looked in 2012, The F-150 was the clear choice, and the GMs we're not close. But the 2014 GM refresh completely changed my opinion (which could get changed again with the 2015 F-150 refresh). The biggest standout was handling and steering, which is rare to find in a truck, but GM's new electric power steering does a remarkable job providing sharp feel and crisp response. Makes the others feel like battleships.

The light truck market is probably the most competitive, so improvements roll out every so often and I think each manufacturer gains frequent small advantages over the competition. Buyers really need to sample and test drive all the trucks. They are all good, but some are better fits than others for any given buyer.

I bought a new truck in the fall of last year. We looked at all manufacturers and narrowed it down to Ford and Toyota. We drove both the EB and 5.0 Ford and the 5.7 and 4.7 Tundra. Acceleration wise, I felt no real difference between the EB and the 5.7. I did not like to twin turbo design for future out of warranty repairs. After reading Oracle's post, I feel better about my decision to go with the Tundra. We average 17-18mpg in the Tundra, 2wd 5.7 with 4.30 gears. The main selling factor was the rear a/c vents as we have 2 kids under 4 riding with us most of the time. It tows very well, best towing half ton we have owned. I still drive a 1997 F150 4x4, 4.6 V8. This engine is weak but does what I need it to do- get me to work and home and occasionally pick up supplies at the Co-Op. I have also owned 2 F250s (both the "dreaded" 6.0 diesel-no issues) and one other F150. They, overall, are good trucks. No major complaints.
