Ford F150-I'm Done.

About 5500 with me and 1/2 a tank of gas.

Our 2008 Suburban, 18' Utility trailer, and me w/ an almost empty gas tank weighed in at 85xx a few weeks ago when I took a load of metal in to the recycling center (Almost 9600 lbs with the metal on the trailer). According to Gatormade, my trailer weighs 2000 lbs and I'm 220, so that leaves the Suburban weighing 62xx lbs.

Suburbans come in 1500 and 2500 variants, I'm sure that makes a sizable difference in weight.

Sounds like a crew cab, either with a sunroof or the longer wheelbase (perhaps both). Mine is the short wheelbase and is the aluminum supercab that famously shipped without the crash bars.

As a mechanic, I specifically paid an extra grand to get Navi without the sunroof. All sunroof do is increase noise, allow the headliners to fall down, and when the seal leaks, fry out the electrical stuff. Nope. I've fixed way too many sunroof related just to the point where I refuse to have one.

Sunroof, agreed, PITA. So I guess it must be the longer wheelbase crew cab then?

Yes, it is the 157" WB crew with basically every option Lariat. I wanted a Platinum, but could not get one without a sunroof and the larger wheels are worthless in northern MN with our frost-heaved roads, lower carrying capacity, and worse tire selection.

I needed the shorter wheelbase for the tight spots I sometimes get into, and also prefer the huge opening the Supercab allows not having a B-pillar between the doors. I have never looked at how much weight the longer wheelbase adds on the newer aluminum models. I'm sure it is at least a couple hundred pounds depending on config (scab with 8' versus screw with 6.5').

That's about the same as my truck, me, the tools/supplies, and a full tank.

Today, I bought 48 gallons of gas.... 3 six gallon cans for the tractor and about 30 in Clifford (the big red dog!). He was just a tad over 1/4 tank left.

Got 15 gallons @ $0.96 per gallon due to my wife's grocery discount points. The rest was at $1.95. I was quite happy with that today.

Mine's a 1993 K1500... so it has none of that fancy-schmancy safety stuff like an '08 would. No factory 3rd row seat. No spare tire. No luggage rack. No, no, no, nothing. It was originally purchased new by a volunteer fire department. About the only factory options it has are power windows and locks, and a locking rear differential, and transmission cooler.

Didn't hear about that... what are the crash bars?

Crash bars are pieces of sub frame that attach to the outside of the frame rails in front of and behind the front wheels. The supercab suffers a slightly lower crash test rating and is about 80lbs lighter due to Ford deciding supercabs didn't need them in 2015. They changed their minds and added them to the 2016.

The red and yellow bits in the image below are the crash bars.
