I have a Ford 861, 5 sp, etc. My friend has a MF135. My Ford is very useful. His MF seems more useful because it has more power at lower speeds. Probably in part because it's a diesel while my Ford is gas, but his transmission has Hi/Lo range, too. I'm curious to know how much lower are the MF Lo/1st. gear ratios than the Ford 1st. gear. I'm also envious of his spin-out wheels, which increases utility by allowing narrow for mowing/baling, and wide for brush-hogging. However, I have 8n's with wheels wide for brush-hogging. But they don't have as much power at low speeds, even with the Sherman Lo/1st., being xmission pto. So is there any reasonable way for gearing down further an 861? Are good spin-out wheels available for an 861?
