but most uptil 76 had the generator i have only seen a very very few pre 76 models with altenators i know for a fact one is completely orignal everything from the tach and wiring harness i would believe it was a test tractor but it is a one owner tractor

cost is realativ. looking at vintage invoices, based on the costs I see for add ons, repairs, parts and implements .. even adjusting the dollar to modern.. some 'stuff' was just way cheaper back then. methinks the labor overhead and fuel charges probably are a big part of that.

meant to say, that yeah.. I agree about the research vs the dealer conversion. had been tossing out random ideas earlier. that latter seems much more reasonable.
