I'm so glad to hear those coments. Just finally finished making all arangements to pick up "Blue" (I name my equip)... funny you said '1920 is a man'... a friend was helping me re arrange the garage for Blue ... and I kept saying 'when blue gets here, HE can do that!'... I do push equipment a bit, little-hog (my Sears Craftsman Garden Tractor) cleared over 6 acres of unkept hay fields + @ 5 acres of lawn that hadn't been mowed in 2 years the first year and has kept them all mowed this last summer... First year, lots of times the hay stood taller than my head. But, I took it slow, fed little-hog lots of fresh oil, gave him lots of cleanings and he is still running strong... but since he can't do a FEL, now he'll be kept to the trim work.

I like the idea of renting to test drive equip... is this a normal thing if I go to a dealer and ask to just rent for a month?

The 1920 should do the jobs you described just fine. Mine runs a 5' bush hog; the only time it's bogged down is cutting very thick wet grass around a seep on my back hill. It's cut heavy brush including 2" saplings and multiflora rosebushes taller than I am without undue complaint. For mowing the pastures every few weeks I'm sure a 6' would do fine, but I'm happy with a 5' for the jobs I need it to do.

I' haven't run an auger on mine yet, but I see no reason why there should be a problem. I've been very happy with mine in the 8 months I've had it since replacing my old Massey 135. I just wish I had it at home right now. The first big snowstorm if the year is due to drop 6-10 inches on me, and my tractor is out getting repairs done. Hope the wife doesn't mind parking down at the road for a week or so...
