Just received some 914A mmm gearbox parts which the dealer had to order in. They added freight from the warehouse to them, freight from them to me and added a handling charge to the order total. Now all of this was on top of full list price. Needless to say, I am less than thrilled. And yes, I do realize that parts and service usually account for more of a dealers profit than sales, but where does the cycle end?

I bought some JD parts and they charged shipping from their warehouse to the dealer. I picked up at the dealer to avoid shipping costs from the dealer to me.
I was told that they would not ship from the warehouse to me directly.

Unfortunately, I don't have a local dealer. Closest is ~ 45 + miles from me and their hours and business practices aren't conducive to my lifestyle. Therefore, I use a TBN subscriber for my parts needs. The shipping didn't irk me, it was the "handling charge" on top of everything else. Night before last, I was reassembling and realized one of us missed ordering a part. Called yesterday, mentioned the "handling charge" and they are shipping the missing item for free.

Do you guys know of any dealers that will ship filters (air, fuel, oil, HST, hydraulic) at a reasonable price- I too am 50 miles from the closest one. Are prices reasonable? I don't have a problem paying shipping and handling if it's "reasonable"..........

Guess it helps if I tell you that I have a 2003 NH 33D.

Sent you a PM. Reasonable is the catch in your statement though, isn't it?

Ol' Goat I get all my filters, oil, etc from Carvers. I have to pay shipping charges, but it sure beats driving 35 miles to the nearest dealer. Carver is also an advertiser on TBN.

I buy most of my filters from Filter1. They offer free shipping on orders of six or more filters. Prices are generally less than at the local Deere dealer.
