I took the lift cover off my 841 to investigate why the 3 pt was not always lifting to maximum height. I cannot find a thing wrong in there - all the linkages and valves appear to be properly adjusted and working fine. The pump makes excellent pressure and the hitch will pick up a 6' bush hog effortlessly...just not as high as it should.
The only thing I noticed was the "lift ram arm" has an eccentric that kind of rides on a pin that sticks out from one of the linkage arms. The pin has a flat spot worn into it and the eccentric cam has a slight depression worn into it from riding against the pin.
The pin is a press-fit into the linkage arm. Does anyone know if this could be the problem and, if so, how I might correct it?
BTW, the hitch will rise all the way if I pull gently on the yoke while sitting in the drivers seat. It will also rise all the way on its own sometimes - just not ALL the time.
