I have an L2501 and it is very easy to do the oil/filter and grease everything that the manual shows for greasing. The oil pan has two bolts on the bottom that are removed for the oil change. Fuel filter is very easy, don't lose the o ring. The air filter is a breeze. You can get a kit for all of these on ebay for about $100 covers oil filter/air filter/hst filter/fuel filter. Mine is gear shift so I don't know about the HST. Oil is about 5 1/2 quarts of shell rotella synthetic. Good luck.
